Guides Hub

This hub is the map for every Crimson Moon how-to on the wiki. The game is a Gothic High Renaissance action RPG from ProbablyMonsters. You play a Nephilim knight of the Order of the Crimson Moon and reclaim Gildenarch in 15- to 45-minute hunts, solo or with one partner. It is not a Roblox title and it is not a live-service seasonal grind. The studio is shipping a complete, priced game on September 1, 2026.

If you are new, start with how to play Crimson Moon. That page covers the loop from Sanctus Clypeus to a ward boss, the lives pool, and what to do in the first hour. Then read the combat guide so stamina, parries, executions, and Angel Mode are not a surprise in Forsaken Streets.

What these guides answer

Players searching before launch are not looking for patch notes. They want to know whether Crimson Moon is a Soulslike, a roguelite, or both; how punishing death is; whether a friend can join; and how loot survives a failed run. The short version: combat is souls-inspired melee with rolls, parries, and stamina. Runs are mission-sized. Death spends a life instead of sending you back to a bonfire halfway across a map. Gear you purify at the hub stays in your arsenal.

Use this index when you know the question:

  • Getting started — first hunt, loadouts, and the War Table.
  • Combat — melee timing, executions, Weapon Arts, and Angel Mode.
  • Co-op — two-player online, revives, shared lives, and loot etiquette.
  • Loot and progression — chests, purification, rarity, and Boons.
  • Sanctus Clypeus — the cathedral hub, NPCs, and loadout station.
  • Story and setting — Gildenarch, the Infernal Legion, and the Dead Gods.
  • How runs work — 15–45 minute hunts, gates, lives, and when a mission actually ends.

Builds live next door in the builds hub, because loadouts are how you express a class. Characters, Angels, and bosses sit under characters. Launch timing and editions sit under updates.

How a hunt is structured

Every hunt begins in Sanctus Clypeus. You pick nine pieces of gear, an Angel, and two consumables, then take a mission from the War Table. Districts such as Forsaken Streets, Archspire Cathedral, Ramshorn Keep, Shoreditch Prison, and Elk Grove Academy are named in achievement lists and preview coverage. Layouts remix enemy packs and modifiers rather than generating a brand-new city every time. Nexus Gates offer Boon choices mid-run. Survive to the ward boss, claim an Abraxas Stone when the district allows it, and return to purify what you found.

That loop is why the guides on this hub talk about preparation as much as boss patterns. A weapon you do not understand will waste stamina. An armor set you never purified will not be there when difficulty spikes. A partner who does not know the co-op revive rules can drain the shared life pool in one elite pack.

How to use this wiki on launch week

Read the systems pages first. They will still be true after you have played: lives, purification, Angels, and hub NPCs are design pillars, not datamined numbers. After September 1 we will fold in drop tables, exact Weapon Art names, and boss checks without pretending pre-launch previews were a full strategy guide.

If you only have time for three pages besides this hub, take getting started, combat, and builds. Then confirm your hardware on the system requirements page and your purchase on editions.

Crimson Moon is built for people who bounced off endless Soulslike runbacks and for people who still want weighty melee. These guides stay on that line: honest about difficulty, specific about systems, and linked so you never hit a dead end.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before you enter Gildenarch.

Which Crimson Moon guide should I read first?

Start with getting started, then combat if the melee timing is your worry, or co-op if you are buying the game for a friend.

Are these guides for a game that has shipped?

No. Crimson Moon launches September 1, 2026. The pages here are built from official trailers, Steam copy, and preview coverage so you can prepare before that date.

Where do builds and weapons live?

Loadouts are documented in the builds hub, including weapons and armor. Guides explain how those pieces behave in a hunt.
