Crimson Moon Sanctus Clypeus NPCs

The Church staff who turn a hunt into a career.

Last updated:

Hub NPCs

Sanctus Clypeus is not an empty fast-travel room. Official hub trailers introduce a small staff with jobs that map onto progression. Talk to them or your build stays stuck on starter whites. This dossier matches trailer narration and achievement text. It does not invent extra shopkeepers. For the walking route, use the hub guide. For what purification means, use loot.

Commander and mentor

The Order’s commander is your mentor. He briefs, he assigns bounty quests, he is the voice that tells you the prophecy is not a metaphor. Bounties are extra objectives layered on War Table missions. They are how the game asks you to hunt a faction on purpose instead of pathing to the boss with your eyes closed. If a bounty says vampires, bring the kit that parries. If it says Hellgrowth, bring reach.

He is also the political face of the uneasy alliance with the Lunatarian Church. When story beats land in the nave, they will land on him first. You do not need to like him. You need to check his board.

Mereda, historian of Eden

Trailer captions disagree on spelling: Mereda in achievements (“Meet Mereda,” Librarian Briefing), Marida in some auto-generated voiceovers. This wiki uses Mereda to match the achievement string and will note if the launched UI disagrees.

She is the Order’s historian, obsessed with Eden’s forgotten history. You bring her lore scrolls. She pays in Boons and soul blessings. That makes her a power vendor disguised as a librarian. Skipping her is skipping Nexus-quality power that does not even wait for a gate. If you care about story, she is also the NPC who will say the word Eden without a trailer narrator.

Librarian Briefing is a named quest. Complete it. It is the tutorial for the rest of her loop.

Lottie, relic hunter

Lottie hunted forbidden relics and paid for it. The trailer is polite about the cost and clear about the shop: trinkets, throwables, consumables. She fills the two items you take into a hunt. Buy here. Do not assume a chest at the boss door will drop a potion. Throwables are part of combat if you actually bind them. If you never throw, you are paying rent on a slot.

In co-op, split Lottie’s counter. Two hunters with identical bombs is a waste. One crowd tool and one selfish heal is a pair.

Gajov, vampire blacksmith

Gajov is the character players will quote. A vampire who makes holy weapons is the game’s sense of humor. His job is not a joke. Purified gear goes to him to climb rarity or to be swapped for souls. Angel Mode scales with that rarity. The achievement “Gajov Make Strong” is the first real power spike hiding in a trophy list.

Bring him the weapon whose art you use and the four armor pieces you wear. Do not bring him a museum. Souls spent on a two-hander you never equipped are souls Mereda will not see.

His turbulent past is flavor until a quest says otherwise. When it does, it will probably involve vampires you are already killing in the streets. That is good design. The enemies page is his backstory with a health bar.

Other voices

Hub trailers mention the Lunatarian Church as a body of scholars sharing the Crimson Hall. Some of them will be scenery. Do not expect a dozen named quest givers at $19.99. If the launched game adds a vendor, this page will add a row. Until then, four jobs cover the loop: missions, lore-power, consumables, rarity.

A talking order that respects your time

  1. Commander board, so the hunt has a bounty.
  2. Mereda dump, so Boons are current.
  3. Gajov, so rarity matches the Angel you plan to trigger.
  4. Lottie, last, so consumables match the district you just picked.

If you only talk to one person for a week, talk to Gajov. Fashion sets from First Look will not raise rarity for you.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before you enter Gildenarch.

Is it Mereda or Marida?

Achievements use Mereda (Librarian Briefing). Some trailer captions say Marida. This wiki follows the achievement until the launched UI settles it.

Who upgrades my weapons?

Gajov the vampire blacksmith, after you purify the piece. That is the rarity climb that also feeds Angel Mode.

Where do I buy potions?

Lottie’s counter in Sanctus Clypeus stocks consumables, throwables, and trinkets for the two pre-hunt slots.

Are these NPCs in the field?

Public materials place them in the hub. Your field company is another Nephilim if you queue co-op.
