Crimson Moon Armor sets
Four pieces that should argue the same fight as your weapon.
Every Nephilim wears four armor pieces as part of the nine-slot loadout. Official loot overviews say some equipment belongs to larger collections with synergies for aggressive, high-risk styles or heavier defensive play. That is the class system wearing a different hat. This page covers how to think about sets before launch, what First Look and Deluxe actually give you, and why cosmetics are not a substitute for purification. Pair it with weapons and the builds hub.
Four slots, one sentence
Armor should complete the sentence your weapon started. If the weapon is a shield kit, armor that rewards staying in range and surviving a missed parry is the set. If the weapon is a two-hander, armor that pays you for aggression is the set. Mixing a glass-cannon chest with a tower-shield fantasy is how you die confused in Forsaken Streets. Trinkets are the two extra adjectives. They do not get to overwrite the sentence.
Rarity on armor feeds Angel Mode the same way weapons do. A matched uncommon set you understand will outperform a rainbow of unaligned rares while you are still learning combat. Gajov exists to push a purified set up the rarity ladder. Use him on the four pieces you actually wear, not on a museum of helmets.
First Look premium sets
Before launch, ProbablyMonsters ran First Look quests that award original premium armor to founding community members. Public reveals include:
- Moonlight Oath — the early “earn armor before launch” push.
- Mahkten — called the second of four premium sets in official social posts.
- Ram — short armor reveal trailer.
- Vampire — short armor reveal trailer.
Those sets are the reason some players will look legendary in the character select. They are not a documented stat bible. Wear them if you earned them. If a set bonus is real, the launched tooltip will say so. If it is only a look, still purify a functional drop set for the hunts that matter. The First Look page is the how-to-earn side.
Storefront exclusives showed up in late-August reveals and are not First Look tracks:
- Sonai Magistrate — PlayStation exclusive armor, short official reveal.
- Valiant — Steam exclusive armor, short official reveal.
- Epoch — Epic Games Store exclusive armor, short official reveal.
Buy the platform you will actually co-op on if a look matters. Cosmetics do not follow you across stores. Deluxe Ceremonial remains the paid gold set on every platform. Epic’s Epoch set does not appear on a Steam or Xbox license.
Deluxe Ceremonial Armor
The Deluxe Edition at $29.99 includes the Ceremonial Armor Set and the Axe of the Gods weapon cosmetic, plus a later expansion. Ceremonial is a launch-day look for people who paid the extra ten dollars. It does not replace the loot loop. Do not skip Gajov because you already look like a stained-glass window. See editions.
Synergy over fashion when lives are short
Lives make fashion tempting. You can survive a mistake, so you wear the vampire set because it slaps. Then the ward boss asks whether your chest piece actually reduces the slam that killed you last time. Save fashion for Sanctus Clypeus screenshots. In the ward, four pieces should share a job with the Weapon Art. When a true set-bonus list exists after September 1, this page will name the bonuses. Until then, the rule is alignment.
Hellgrowth districts and burning streets in official screenshots are messy, close-range spaces. Heavy defensive sets make sense there. Open ritual bosses may reward the greedy set. Swap at the loadout station. Armor is not a marriage.
A purification order for armor
- Chest and legs, because they are the bulk of the silhouette and usually the bulk of the stats in this genre.
- Helm and arms to complete a set you already like.
- Only then collect off-set legendaries “for later.”
- Raise the worn four at Gajov before you start a second set.
- In co-op, do not both wear glass if nobody brought a shield.
Armor is how a classless game still lets you glance at a teammate and know their job. Make that glance honest.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers before you enter Gildenarch.
How many armor pieces can I wear?
Four armor pieces plus two trinkets, alongside your weapon setup, for nine gear slots total.
Do First Look sets have better stats?
They are sold as original premium cosmetics for founding players. Wait for launched tooltips before treating them as the best stat sticks. See First Look.
Is Ceremonial Armor required?
No. It comes with Deluxe as a cosmetic set. Standard edition hunters build from drops and Gajov like everyone else.
Should I mix sets?
Only if two pieces share a job with your Weapon Art. Random high-rarity mixes waste the collection synergies official trailers describe.
